Call for global mass action: Stop racism and fascism!
Declaration by World Against Racism and Fascism for united protests, 14-28 March 2026
World Against Racism and Fascism (WARAF) has been warning about the dangers of the far right and fascism for many years. The scale of the threat we face right now is unprecedented.
This is clear around the globe. Far-right and fascist parties are in power or close to it in multiple countries on almost every continent.
This has been accompanied by a growing, and violent, presence of far right movements on the streets, and by an intensification of the already existing state racism.
Racism is the central issue being used to fuel the growth of far right movements. Refugees and migrants are being scapegoated, dehumanised and attacked: the Mediterranean and all the frontiers of Europe have become a mass graveyard. Islamophobia, Antisemitism, racism against South East Asian people, Afrophobia, racism against Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities, and all other forms of racism and xenophobia are all on the rise internationally.
Far right movements and fascist figures opportunistically manipulate the issue of violence against women to spread racist fear. They push hatred against LGBT+ people, and especially trans people. These movements also include climate crisis deniers.
The polarisation that has created the horror of the growth of the far right has another side. It has also inspired mass resistance which has the potential to unite and mobilise to stop them.
Those of us who oppose fascism and racism are the majority.
This has been made clear repeatedly by recent large protests, such as those organised by Stand Up To Racism in Britain; by the 250,000 people who protested against racism and the fascist party of Le Pen following the call by Marche des Solidarités in France last March; by the incredible 7 million people across the USA who joined the “No Kings” marches against Donald Trump; and most recently, in Germany, where tens of thousands of people protested, 15.000 participating in mass blockades of the founding conference of the AfD’s latest Hitler Youth inspired movement.
It is now more important than ever for us to act collectively and broadly to stop the growth of racist and far right forces.
We urge movements and people around the world to organise against racism and the far right in their countries, their cities, their neighbourhoods and their workplaces.
We support the actions planned around 18 December, international migrants’ Day.
Above all, we call for united mass actions around the next international UN Anti Racism Day, between 14 and 28 March, 2026.
From London to Johannesburg, from Los Angeles to Tokyo, we are the majority. If we organise, we can win.
