United Against Racism and Fascism NYC

UARF-NYC is a broad-based coalition of groups and individuals united to build massive opposition to fascist groups. We oppose all forms of racism and bigotry. We believe solidarity and unity in action are best means to fight fascist movements.
Since the election of Donald Trump there has been a worrying rise of open racism in the U.S. His administration’s increasingly inhuman treatment of refugees on the southern border, and the fear-mongering and scapegoating of migrants and Muslims has inspired a wave of hate crimes and emboldened violent white nationalists to step out of the shadows.
Neo-fascist groups have held a series of high-profile rallies, and at times threatened left-wing meetings or attacked immigrant settlements. The Alt-Right rhetoric has influenced “lone wolves” to plan deadly acts of terror. The killing of 11 worshipers at a synagogue in Pittsburgh by an anti-Semitic white nationalist was the most deadly example.
But when the far-right attempts to build public rallies they have been met with determined opposition, often shutting down their events.
UARF–NYC was started in New York after the October synagogue massacre. We aim to bring a broad and diverse movement into the streets to confront fascists whenever and wherever they appear in public. We also believe in the necessity to educate the public about the fascist threat.
