Love Aotearoa Hate Racism, Auckland, New Zealand

Love Aotearoa Hate Racism is a united front campaign led by trade unions, socialists and community organisations in New Zealand. Founded in 2018, since then we have organised and taken part in multiple anti-racist actions both small and large. After the massacre in Christchurch in 2019, we organised a rally attended by thousands of people to loudly proclaim that far-right extremism and racist violence has no place in Aotearoa.

Since then, we have also led actions protesting racially-motivated attacks on members of the community, organised a concert commemorating the one-year anniversary of the Christchurch attacks, and participated in the Black Lives Matter protests in Auckland.

We are a small but growing group of activists, unionists and community leaders and are actively building bridges with migrant communities and the Muslim community. We are dedicated to combatting racism in all its forms and will continue to be a voice for justice and equality in New Zealand.
