Statement for 21 March 2020 UN Anti Racism Day
Demonstrate for a #WorldAgainstRacism
The dangers of racism and fascism are growing by the day. Racism, Islamophobia and antisemitism are on the rise everywhere. As a result, we are witnessing a worrying rise in hate crime. We stand in opposition to all forms of racism and bigotry, in solidarity with refugees, and in solidarity with Gyspy Roma Traveller communities.
There is already growing resistance to the rise of fascism, the far right and racist populism in different countries, and it has shown it can be effective. Now we need more unity and solidarity internationally to face up to racism and the far right.
For these and many more reasons we are coordinating international #WorldAgainstRacism demonstrations for UN Anti Racism Day, 21 March 2020.
Last March, 2019, we held demonstrations in over 60 cities worldwide, with tens of thousands marching against the rise of the far right, racism and fascism. This year we aim to broaden the international solidarity, and fight for bigger demonstrations, in more places around the world.
